She supported me through my first steps, helped me prepare for my first National Youth Theatre audition, where I was successfully offered a place. That became the starting point of my creative journey, which has since taken me from LAIT, to National Youth Theatre, to New Earth Theatre, and Red Ladder Theatre.

DRAMATURGY
I work closely with writers, directors and creatives to help shape and strengthen scripts, bringing an outside eye and a deep understanding of structure, character and tone. Whether it’s developing new writing, reworking an existing piece, or supporting a project from early concept through to production, I aim to ask the right questions, offer thoughtful feedback, and help bring clarity and cohesion to the work.
For me, dramaturgy is all about collaboration, curiosity and craft – finding the heart of the story and making the right connections to take the work to the next level.
As a dramaturg, Lizi is collaborative and inquisitive - she asks the right questions at the right time, supporting artists to articulate and refine their vision without imposing her own. Her role as a critical friend is rooted in trust and honesty: she offers constructive challenge, creative provocation and encouragement in equal measure, always with the goal of helping the work reach its full potential.
As a mentor, Lizi is especially passionate about nurturing early-career and young artists. She creates safe, empowering spaces for growth, often working with emerging writers and performers to help them find their voice and navigate the wider creative landscape. She balances professional rigour with warmth, humour and emotional intelligence.
In all these roles, Lizi is a connector - someone who fosters reflection, dialogue, and meaningful artistic development.
